IMPORTANT UPDATE ON GARMIN FENIX 6, ENDURO AND MARQ – BIKE HONOR AND MANY OTHER SPORTS.

The next update hides a set of new features and especially the arrival of a large number of new physical activities such as racket sports and especially electric bikes. It is rare to be underlined, the American brand GARMIN is for the moment the only manufacturer of watches allowing such an important communication with the VAE.

In the next update of the watches of the FENIX 6, ENDURO and MARQ series, it will be possible to identify the type of VAE:

  • For the city: e Vélo
  • For paths: eMTB,

You will need to connect your VAE and you will probably be able, depending on its generation and type of engine, to read a set of data ranging from the battery level to the assistance selected. For people riding e-bikes to work, you can save your data and keep statistics on the Garmin connect app.

A set of other cycling activities will make their appearances such as:

  • Cyclo-cross,
  • Gravel bike,
  • Bike tour,
  • Road bike.

For each profile, you have specific data panels to which it will be possible to modify the organization and add new data.

In version 19.74, you will also find the addition of racket sports (winter sport), tennis and HIIT and its training. If like me, you are new to HIIT “High Intensity Interval Training”, it is a high intensity interval training program. This sports program emphasizes above all the intensity of the effort to the detriment of the duration. High-level athletes would be great users of this novelty to work their muscles and lose calories quickly.

At the moment, this version is still only a beta.

  • Added an alert to notify the user when the battery is very low during a music sync.
  • Added improved resting heart rate algorithm.
  • Fixed an issue with alarms not triggering intermittently when the device is set to Max. Battery mode.
  • Increase loading times of Explore Sync application waypoints.
  • Improve user interface for loading measurements when taking SpO2 measurement.
  • Connect IQ improvements and bug fixes.
  • Attach the ability to disable recording of an activity during a golf activity.
  • Added an alert to notify the user when the battery is very low during a music sync.
  • Attach HRV chest strap support for yoga and breathing.
  • Added a pop-up to the pulse measurement function if the device detects too much movement and cannot get an accurate measurement.
  • Updated automatic altimeter calibration to either “On” or “Nightly”. Setting to “On” will set the unit to periodically calibrate the altitude throughout the day. Setting to “Night” will set the device to calibrate altitude at night and before the start of an activity.
  • Increase loading times of Explore Sync application waypoints.
  • Increase lactic threshold and altitude acclimatization algorithms.
  • Improved user interface for loading measurements when taking SpO2 measurement.
  • Settle display issues on the device after navigating to a point initiated by the Garmin Explore app.
  • Settle an issue where selecting a single point on a map containing multiple items would not display items correctly.
  • Solve an issue that corrupts open water swimming activity files.
  • Solve an issue where PacePro tapes were not recognized by the device.
  • Fixed an issue with activities reporting incorrect activity calorie and training effect data.
  • Connect IQ improvements and bug fixes.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON GARMIN FENIX 6

INSTALL THE BETA.

Installing a beta is never without risk, even if GARMIN has a habit of delivering nearly finalized versions to the general public. There can always be a risk of bugs, loss of settings, and language. If you are not afraid, just drag the file: GUPDATE.GCD into the Garmin folder. For the 006B310701.GCD and GUP3295.GCD files, you will have to drag them into the folder: RemoteSW.
